Welcome to the Crysis Wars Weekend Blitz (4v4 League) brought to you by GameRigs. You have played for fun, played to improve, now compete to win!

Here you will compete to show your gaming might over the weekend to win some amazing prizes from EA, GameRigs, NVIDIA, Crucial, Tritton and CaseAce!

A huge thank you to the EA and Crytek teams who made this possible. Thanks also to Multiplay for their great servers and community teams who work very hard in support of their passion for all things Crysis! Jointly, we have put together some of the best competitive gaming out there… and have made it simple and fun to find competitors, report your results and view your rankings.

Here are the easy steps:

1. Create an Account in the GameRigs Gaming Network Forums.
2. Create an account on ClanWars site and join the Crysis Warhead League.
3. Create a team (clan) of 4 players, including you. Or you can join another clan that is looking for players.
4. Select a competitive team and set up location for matches using the one of the 12 Crysis Wars Blitz competitive servers available.
5. The losing clan is responsible for reporting the results of the matches.

Details:

• Crysis Wars Weekend Blitz starts on Friday, Oct 10th at 8:00 pm GMT and ends on Monday, Oct 13th at 9:00 am GMT. The tournament servers will be available during this time.
• The Clanwars Crysis Warhead league reporting system will available until Tuesday, Oct 14th @ 8:00 pm GMT. All matches must be reported to Clanwars by this deadline.
• The winning team (clan) and one lucky winner will be officially announced here on Wednesday and prizes will be sent out.

Prizes:

• Each member of the winning team (clan), up to 4 players, will receive a NVIDIA GeForce-based video card and a Case Ace GearGrip G2 Carrying Harness
• One out of the four members of the winning team will be randomly chosen to receive a Crucial Ballistix 4GB DDR2 Memory Kit and a Tritton AXPC True 5.1 surround sound gaming headset.

Well EA made an official announcement on the Crysis Wars event I reported earlier. And it's going to be a real gaming blitz so prep your clips and battle suit this one is gonna be a blast!!!! Here is some more on the EA announcement .. I am in contact with the Crysis team at EA and Crytek so don't forget to come back for alot more fun here in the next few days!!!

Following on from our cryptic message in last months community update, we're now going to shed some light on what it actually meant. That's right, a Crysis Wars free trial weekend will be held between October 10-12th so you can round up all of your friends that haven't gone out and bought the game yet, and get them to jump right in with you from the 10th of October.

Electronic Arts and Crytek are announcing today that Crysis Wars, the new multiplayer suite for Crytek’s award-winning Crysis franchise and part of the critically acclaimed Crysis Warhead package, will be available for free from Friday, October 10th through Sunday, October 12th.

“We have been extremely pleased with the reception we have received from gamers and press for Crysis Warhead,” said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek. “Crysis Wars is definitely a big reason for this success and something we are dedicated to, not only as a part of future Crysis titles, but in terms of releasing new modes and continued support for our growing community.”

Starting on Monday, October 6th, gamers can take advantage of this offer by registering online at www.mycrysis.com. After registration, those who sign up will be emailed a unique activation key that will allow them to immediately play Crysis Wars on LAN for the entire week and will allow them to play on Gamespy servers from October 10th at 11:00 AM PT to October 12th at 11:59 PM.

Crysis Wars includes:

• Three diverse multiplayer modes including InstantAction, TeamInstantAction and PowerStruggle
• 21 maps ranging from large battlefields to smaller, more intimate battlegrounds with a diverse array of settings ranging from beaches to graveyards
• All weapons and vehicles released within the Crysis Universe

Everyone knows that they can get Crysis Warhead through GameStop and Amazon but did you know you can download it through Steam? It seems that more and more publishers are looking to Steam as a means to get their games out the door.

I remember back in Nov of 2004 when gamers were paralyzed with Steam's first launch and how poorly Half-Life 2 launched with people crying out for relief.

I guess as in all things, it takes a while before people adopt a new way to enjoy gaming
